Spandan 2005
Success has always been in the very nature of
VIPSians and the proof for the same was very clear with the
outstanding success of Spandan 2005,
the Mega Media Fest organized by the BJ(MC)
students of Vivekananda Institute of Professional Studies. It is
an initiative of the students of VIPS to understand and exercise
the practical implications of Event Management.
With sponsors like ONGC and Microsoft and media
Partners like "Hindustan Times", "Red FM", "The Statesman and
the Pioneer", the fest was a benchmark for all other colleges
practising the same tradition.
Organized in the college premises itself for
four days, Spandan
offered unprecedented opportunities to reach out to over 5000
Media students across 30 colleges.
Exhibiting 27 competitive events and seven Non-
competitive events, the festival provides a forum for ability
and intellect to converge. Organized from November 18 to 21, the
fest had a hint of all the shades, right from Radio
Jockeying to Photo Exhibition.
Spandan 2004
The Mega Media Fest was organized by the BJMC students.
BJ(MC) Fifth Semester students organized a three-day Media Fest ‘ Spandan 2004' on November 6,7 & 8. The fest was inaugurated on November 6 at 9:30 a.m. and was followed by a Media Seminar at 10:30 a.m. The topic of the seminar was -
Media Agenda Setting: Of whom? For whom? By whom?
Eminent personalities attended the inaugural function including Major Rajya Vardhan Singh Rathore, Olympics Silver Medallist. A Photo Exhibition of the noted Photojournalist Kamal Sharma was the special attraction of the fest.
Apart from this, there were about 25 competitive and non-competitive events organized that were spread uniformly
over the three days for the participation of media students exclusively.
The concluding ceremony of Spandan 2004 was held in the FICCI Auditorium on November 8. The chief Guest for the valedictory function was the Hon'ble HRD Minister, Arjun Singh. The ceremony also witnessed the presence of the noted Actor director Saurabh shukla better known as Kallu Mama among the students.
Other eminent personalities included Mr. Amitabha Chakravorty, ADG, DD News; Mr. Naveen Jindal, industrialist and MP; Prof. K.K. Aggarwal, Vice Chancellor, GGSIP University and Mr. Ashok Balyan, Chairman, ONGC.
The fest was sponsored by ONGC, Kores and London metropolitan.
The Pioneer and The Statesman were the Media Partners of Spandan.
IT Youth Week : A very constructive and valuable week, organized by the BCA students, had various events and this gave a
boost to our students to come out of their shells and participate.
Law Day : The future lawyers celebrated Law day. Hon’ble Justice Ahmadi blessed and guided the students on the occasion.
